ATELIER PERELÀ is the media workshop of Alessandro Maggioni, industrial designer, artist and performer. Alessandro loves to bring his poetic approach to every narrative and audiovisual interaction he produces.
His career spans more than 20 years in the media industry.
He began working in Milan for design studios and communication agencies, and in 2011 moved to Berlin to develop innovative media formats for younger generations. His interest in the role of analog in digital culture lead him to explore the world of handmade paper-craft and stop-motion animation, and to share this knowledge with younger generations through workshops given in schools and kindergartens.
With his project BADABOOMBERLIN he has worked for major museum institutions in Germany (Bauhaus Dessau, Futurium Berlin, Grassimuseum Leipzig) realizing playful interactive installations. He created original concepts for babies and their families performed on the stage of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and in a sold-out tour in Shanghai with the IMAGINAria ensemble.
He has recently expanded his activity collaborating with composers, theater stages and actors. Research on new formats has led him to develop a tool, the “Maggioni 3000”, an interactive animation table with which he performed in object- and figure theatre across Germany (Schaubude Berlin, Münchner Puppenmuseum, T-werk Potsdam), and Denmark (H.C. Andersen Hus).
